HIP’s delayed again!

The government have delayed there HIP’s again (Home Information Packs) pushing the mandatory date from the 1st June to 1st August 2008. The packs are only then mandatory if you are selling a home with 4 or more bedrooms. it will be phased in to smaller properties later on.

This is another setback to the scheme which has been critisied by many property experts as being more red tape for sellers and buyers. the pcks will end up costing the home sellers an extra £600 and will include an Energy Performance Certificate. the latest delay is said to be caused by a big shortage of energy assessors, they simply have not trained enough of these to tackle the number of homes put up for sale every month.
